What to know
Getting there
Fly/rail to Zhangjiakou, then 1–2 h shuttle to the ski resort or glacier park (winter roads need 4WD/chains).
Insider tips
- Rent skis/snowboards at the resort base — bringing your own through airports is hassle.
- Glacier parks: book the shuttle bus ticket with the entry ticket; walkways are the only safe route.
